PROFOMA INVOICE and CONTRACT

At Auto Frontier, this invoice acts as a Purchase and Sales Contract indicating vehicle name, units, price,

and payment method: an important document, with the signature of both the seller and the purchaser.

 

CONSIGNEE

The purchaser . Strictly speaking, the person/company who has the Legal documents of ownership for the

vehicle and has the right to pick up the imported car from the port. The imported car will belong to the consignee.

 

B/L

Bill of Lading. This is the document that proves the contract for carriage of goods.
You need the original B/L in order to collect the imported vehicle from the port.

 

T/T

Telegraphic Transfer. Electronic transfer of money from one bank to another.

 

Freight

Transportation and charges for delivered goods.

 

FOB ( Japan )

Free on Board. This price includes all transportation costs until cars leave a Japanese Port. However, it does

not include insurance and freight costs.

 

C&F

Cost & Freight. All costs except insurance, to the destination port.

 

CIF

Cost, Insurance, & Freight.
Including all costs until landing at the destination port.

Certificate of Origin

A document that certifies the origin of the goods.
(Some countries need this document to import cars.)

 

* INKAN SHOMEI SHO

INKAN SHOMEI SHO is a proof of your present address, name, date of birth, and sex registered by the municipality.

To receive an INKAN SHOUMEI SHO, you must first apply for INKAN TOUROKU ( Registering a seal). Then the municipality will issue you INKAN TOUROKU SYOUMEISHO SHINSEISHO and INKANTOUROKU card. With these

two documents, you will then be given an INKAN TOUROKU SYOUMEI SHO. If you already have a personal seal,

it is referred to as JITSUIN.

 

* SAIN SHOUMEISHO can replace INKANSYOUMEI SHO. SAIN means a signature.

 

* GAIKOKUJIN TOUROKU GENPYOU KISAIJIKOU SHOUMEI SHO is the ledger
sheet which is a proof of registration of your name and address.

* ININ JHO delegates authority which has a limited power of attorney. This document allows our office to handle

all matters pertaining to the ownership and operation of your car while you are living in Japan .

* SHAKO SHOUMEI SHO
SHAKO SHOUMEI SHO is a certificate of a parking space. In Japan, you are required
to present a certificate to prove that you have your own parking space. You must
complete the necessary paperwork at your local police station. You will be asked for the following items:
- JIDOHSYA HOKANBASHO SHOUMEI SHINSEI SHO = An application form for
a vehicle parking space

 

- HOKANNBASHO HYOUSYOUKOUFU SINSEISHO

An application form for a seal that is displayed on the rear window of the vehicle.

 

- HOKANNBASHO SHOZAICHI HAICHI ZU

= A layout of your parking space


- JININ SHO

=A certificate for those who already have their own parking space

 

-HOKANBASHOSHODAKUSHO

= A certificate for those who have not got own parking space

* ZEI (Taxes)
If you decide to own a vehicle in Japan, you must pay taxes. (JIDOUSYA ZEI,
JIDOUSYA SYUTOKU ZEI, and JIDOUSYA JYURYO ZEI)

* JIDOUSYA ZEI

= A vehicle tax

* JIDOUSYA SYUTOKU ZEI

= Another car tax which varies depending on whether you own a commercial or passenger vehicle

* JIDOUSYA JYURYO ZEI

= A third car tax which varies by the weight of the vehicle

.* HOKEN (Insurance)
You will be required to have JIBAISEKI HOKEN ( A compulsory automobile liability insurance certificate ) when

you purchase a vehicle in Japan .

*SHAKEN (Vehicle Inspection)
You will be required to have SHAKEN every other year. However, if you buy a new vehicle, the first inspection will

cover the first 3 years of the life of the car and then the car must be inspected every other year thereafter.

* DRIVING LICENCE

An international driver's licence is valid for one year after the date of issue.
If you would like to switch to a Japanese driving licence, you must present your licence with a Japanese translation,

your passport, your Certificate of Alien Registration, one photograph, and the requisite fee at

Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency / Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre .

At the Agency/Centre, your knowledge of traffic rules and your driving skills will be tested.
